Dedicated to building partnerships, strengthening families, and alleviating the cause and conditions of poverty.
Community Action Agency of Siouxland is a private non-profit organization that has been helping people and changing lives since its incorporation in 1971. Although our programs have changed over the years, the goal has remained the same – to help hard-working families and individuals improve their own lives and become self-sufficient.
Today, Community Action Agency of Siouxland continues to serve our local community needs through private donations and local, state, and federal grants programs.
Many of our programs are income based and utilize the Federal Poverty Guidelines to determine eligibility. We primarily serve Woodbury County residents, but do have a handful of programs that serve additional counties. Applications for our programs can be taken in-person, over-the-phone, by mail, or online!
Community Action Agency of Siouxland employs approx. 150 individuals and is governed by a local Board of Directors. Our tripartite board consists of 21 members with equal representation from public officials, private interest groups, and elected low-income representatives.
