Overview of Programs

  • Our Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program helps qualifying households in Woodbury County pay a portion of their primary heating costs. This assistance is available to households at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and runs from November 1 to April 30.

  • The Low-Income Home Water Assistance Program is a crisis assistance program designed to help qualifying households prevent water disconnection. This assistance follows LIHEAP eligibility guidelines.

  • We offer several early childhood preschool programs both classroom and in-home based. These programs are offered for free to eligible families who have children 6 weeks to age 5 .

  • Our Community Services staff is the first point of contact if you are needing assistance. We have many programs help individuals and families with utility, rent, food/household items, and other crisis assistance programs.

  • Our agency has the ONLY emergency food pantry open 40 hours a week. We offer non-perishable food, frozen meat, hygiene items, cleaning products, and diapers/wipes.

  • A transitional housing program for homeless families. We provide apartments on a short-term basis, while they receive assistance in locating permanent housing.

  • This program reimburses registered day care providers for nutritious meals and snacks while providing nutrition education and training opportunities.

  • Our nurse consultant provides on-site consultation, training and support to child care businesses to promote safe and healthy environments. This is offered to childcare providers both in-home and centers.

  • This program is designed to help families identify and overcome barriers helping them become self sufficient. Participants must be receiving FIP/TANF benefits and be referred by PROMISE JOBS.

  • This program helps make homes more energy efficient by installing items such as insulation, furnaces, water heaters, refrigerators and freezers. Applicants are taken from LIHEAP clients in Woodbury and Monona counties.

  • A collaborative initiative that allows single, working parents to be given a reliable vehicle, which has been donated and refurbished.
